Segun Odegbami

A father came to the show in July and it was obvious! Segun Odegbami aka Mr. Mathematical who once wore a jersey with the number 7 is an icon whose relevance did not stop in the days in which he played for the Nigerian football team. From meeting with Prime Minister Tony Blair, becoming an international figure to humanitarian efforts, Segun Odegbami has done Nigeria proud.

It was remarkable to see the legend in blazer and jeans sitting across from jazzyb as he came up on stage as the surprise guest. He was humble as he spoke on his journey and achievements, having made sports his tool and pivot for change and that he has a heart to affect lives for the better. He talked about his academy which is a senior secondary school for the talented and other initiatives that he is involved in. He also made us realize that many things are now up to us to make happen in our time.

He encouraged youths to stand up and make a difference and he left such an atmosphere of possibilities that even when he left the stage, the audience was caught in that spell for rest of the program. It was truly memorable.
