The first part of the show was the ’rumble’. This was a very high-spirited in which some major dance groups in Ibadan, including the Royal dancers, TLP(Talented People) and The Commisioned had to freestyle to the beats provided by the sensational band, rhythm expression, on drums. It was exciting to watch the dancers who had no previous inkling of their moves as well as those drumming in synchrony without having rehearsed. The audience was thrilled. Next, Jazzyb presented an award of excellence to Ademola Adetona C.E.O/Publisher of Expoze Magazine as the youth entrepreneur of the year and he happens to be the first person bagging this award. This young man had gone to fulfil his dream of producing an entertainment magazine even though he is still in school studying an agric science course. When the guest of the month, Funsho Adeolu, who is one of Nigeria’s finest Yoruba movie actors came on the stage, he spoke with an astuteness that is only ascribable to a man actively pursuing fulfilment. He was open and straight to the point in describing his journey so far and even when he advised people to go to school because he himself has a BSC. degree albeit in a science field. He probably unconsciously dispelled the general opinion that all actors were morally bankrupt as talked about his hatred for rape and other immoral acts and mentioned that he had a lovely wife whom he was proud of and also that he is an instrumentalist and singer in church. He gave very judicious responses to the questions that members of the audience posed at him. For instance, when asked what actors like himself were doing to improve on the quality of Nollywood films, he threw it back at the audience, saying that it is up to people to promote and create a demand for only what is good. And when someone complained that he could not raise the fee imposed on him to learn acting as an apprentice, Funsho told him that if indeed he wanted a career in acting, he would do all he can because nothing good comes easy. A memorable swing came when he was asked if he actually cried in films unaided. He stood up at that point and it was amazing to see as tears began to trickle down his face with ease. The crowd roared! After the interview, there was a solo narative/comic dance performance by Mr.Perfekkt, then two teens called Lavender, also a live performance from Romeo, upcoming music artiste discovered by Dreams Come True with jazzyb and being produced on this label by the legendary Eddy of AZUSA Productions. All the way from Ilorin came a guitar/comic mime by Taiwo and his 4 lady accomplices and this lovely artistry brought the show to a smooth end.

Reviews

Dreams come true with jazzyb had been on recess for two months and was starting a new session in a new year in a new venue. The expectations were definitely high and Jazzyb started off with an intro that included the direction of DCT and his appreciation to all partners and well-wishers.
